What to do
A second opinion, not a guarantee. When money is involved, call the company on a number you already trust.
How it works
Snap it
Take a photo of the text or email, or upload a screenshot. You can also paste in the words.
Iffy reads it
Iffy looks for the tricks scammers count on: pressure to act fast, links that don’t add up, and requests for money or codes.
You decide
Iffy tells you whether it looks like a scam and walks you through the warning signs. Still unsure? It shows you how to reach the real company directly.

Questions
Is Iffy always right?
No checker is. Iffy is a careful second opinion. When money or your accounts are involved, contact the company yourself using a number or website you already trust.
I think I gave my credit card information to a scammer. What now?
Call your bank or credit card company right away using the number on the back of your credit card. Change any password you typed in. Then report it at reportfraud.ftc.gov.
Does Iffy work on my phone?
Yes. Open iffyapp.com in your phone’s web browser. It works on iPhone, Android, tablets, and computers.
Will Iffy call or text me?
Never. Iffy will never call, text, or email you asking for information. If something claiming to be Iffy does, it’s a scam.
